Excel bill tracker template helps you organize your monthly bills and keep track of if you made your monthly bill payments that are due. Bill tracking software helps you organize your bills so you do not miss a payment and know whether or not you paid your bills. Many people have started to use paperless billing and instead of receiving a paper statement in the mailbox they have set up automatic recurring payments and subscriptions and electronic billing and get bill reminders online and via email so having an Excel bill tracker template is important tool have to keep track of when bills are due and if the bills have been paid.

The bill tracker spreadsheet is set up for the entire calendar year with columns for each month of the year. You can add your bills to the bill tracker and mark the bills as paid, not paid, or not applicable (N/A) for each month of the calendar year that the bills are due. Entering your monthly bills in the monthly bill tracking template functions as a bill reminder that your bills are due in a particular month.

The bill tracker Excel template is simple to use and does not have lots of details so that you do not get confused tracking your bills. In addition to being able to mark bills as paid or not paid, there are Excel indicator lights that help you visually identify if you paid your bills.  The green circle icon with white inner checkmark signifies that the bill was paid in a particular month, the red circle icon with the white inner x mark signifies that the bill was not paid in a particular month, and the yellow dash icon signifies N/A meaning that no bill was due for that particular month. The Excel monthly bill tracker can track the dollar amounts due on a bill including whether or not that amount due was paid or not paid.

The Excel bill reminder spreadsheet is great to help your track your expenses and bills, whether your monthly bills are debts that you have to pay such as credit card debt, car loan debt, and home mortgage debt or other recurring bills such as monthly rent payment, electric bills, water bills, cell phone service bills, property taxes, car insurance, health insurance, and recurring membership fees such as a monthly gym membership (and many other expenses due on a regular basis).

As you add bills to the Excel bill tracker spreadsheet, you can designate bills as due monthly, due quarterly, due twice a year, due yearly, due as a one time payment, or "other" for those bills that do to fit into one of the other billing periods. Each bill could be tracked for payment up to 12 times a year (one for each month). You could track a bill for less then 12 time a year, such as when your bills are due on a quarterly basis.

The Excel bill tracker app is printable so you can print out a blank bill tracker log with just the monthly bills due and manually checkoff each month whether bills were paid or you can use the bill tracker in Excel spreadsheet to mark bills as paid or not paid and print that. So it is a simple printable bill tracker.

The Excel bill tracker app is meant to keep bill tracking simple without a lot of detailed information that you would normally see on a paper bill or monthly bill statement. The bill tracker app can also track the particular due date of a bill (bill due date) but does not track the date the bill was paid. The bill tracker app is a summary of bills due in a particular month and a log of whether or not a bill payment was made to those bills.

The Excel bill tracker template includes the following columns to help you keep your bills organized:

  1. Bills: Enter the name of the business that the bill payment is due to such as Honda Financial Car Loan
  2. Amount Due: Enter the amount of the bill that is due
  3. Due Date: Enter the date that the bill is due
  4. Payment Method: Enter how you plan to make the payment. The payment can be made manually such as by check, in person, or online via vendor website, or is you have set up a payment to be automatically taken out of your checking account such as a recurring monthly subscription service payment, or a bill payment set up as a monthly recurring payment, or a credit card payment set up to pay a specific amount each month such as the minimal payment due or paying off the full statement balance each month.
  5. Payment Frequency: Enter how often the payment is due. The options are monthly payment (such as a monthly auto payment or a monthly subscription service), quarterly payment (such as quarterly condo maintenance fees), payment due twice a year, payment due yearly (such a yearly property taxes due on your home or a yearly subscription service), a one time payment (such as a doctor's bill or other one time bill), or other type of payment (for those bills that do not fall into one of the other bill categories.
  6. 12 separate columns for each month of the calendar year: This is where you mark whether or not the payment was paid, not paid, not applicable (if no payment was due that month), or just leave the cell blank.

It is important to keep your bills organized and to pay your bills on time and this monthly bill tracker spreadsheet can help you with organizing your monthly bills which can help improve your personal finances. Whether you keep a paper bill payment log or an Excel bill tracker template to make sure you pay your monthly bills paying is important because paying a bill late may cost extra interest and fees so it is important to pay your bills before they are due.  Also, paying bills late could hurt your credit score (lower your credit score) and a lower credit score could increase interest rates when you borrow money such as when you take out a mortgage loan for a home purchase.  On the other hand if you pay your bills on time each month or when they are due, this good habit could increase your credit score and make your qualified for the good or best interest rates for car loans or home mortgage loans. The Excel bill payment tracker app can help you avoid late payments or missed payments.

Whether you manually write a check to pay your monthly bills or use online billpay to schedule your bill payments, this Excel bill payment reminder log can help you keep track of all your bills including credit card bills (whether you are paying the monthly credit card minimum payment or the entire credit card debt balance due), mortgage payment, rent, car payment or any other bill payments or invoices due.

Not as technically gifted as I once thought.

The template itself was exactly what I needed. My problem is that I opened it on my phone to look at it. When I sat down with my iPad to work on it, the page said I reached my maximum downloads. So, it was a waste of my money. Sorry. It was probably all my fault.

Hi Dawn, I have emailed you a new link to download the Excel bill tracking software again.
