How to insert a transaction between transactions in the Excel registers?
For "Georges Budget for Excel", the Insert Row button at the top of a Register will insert a blank row between transactions unless there are error(s) noted in the Balance column or all 4000 rows have been used in the Register. Clicking the Insert Row button will first remove any applied Filters in the Register and then insert a row above the active cell. The Insert Row button does not create more total rows (4000) that are in a Register, but it shifts transactions down if there are available rows below which will make an empty row to enter a transaction in.
For "Georges Excel Checkbook Register" and "Georges Excel Checkbook for Mac", the Insert Row button at the top of a Register will insert a blank row between transactions unless there are error(s) noted in the Balance column or all 1500 rows have been used in the Register. Clicking the Insert Row button will first remove any applied Filters in the Register and then insert a row above the active cell. The Insert Row button does not create more total rows (1500) that are in a Register, but it shifts transactions down if there are available rows below which will make an empty row to enter a transaction in.
Why insert a transaction between transactions in the Excel registers?
Most often when you want to add transactions in the Excel register you can either enter them using the "New Transaction" button at top of the registers or by downloading and manually importing transactions in the registers. There may be times when you want to control the exact position of a transaction in the Excel registers. The Excel checkbook software and personal budget spreadsheet both allow you to sort the transactions in the Excel registers by date. For example, after sorting the transactions in the Excel registers by date, lets say that you have two transaction with the same date. Unless you change their dates, resorting them will not change their order relative to one another since they are the same date. You can use "Insert Row" button to control the specific order of a transaction that is entered in the Excel registers and that shares the same date of another transaction.
Also, for "Georges Budget for Excel", if you want to add another itemization to a split transaction that you have already entered in the registers and split transaction also has other transactions entered after it, you can use the "Insert Row" button to insert a row after the last split itemization for that transaction.
